ESAin Touch: The future of industrial design is a team game

Posted on 25 June 2025
Fabio Ferretti

Innovation, collaboration, and strategic vision were the pillars on which ESAin Touch was founded, the exclusive event organized by ESAIN in the extraordinary setting of the Genoa Aquarium last Friday, June 13. A unique opportunity to meet clients, technology partners, and industry professionals in person to explore together the potential of ESAPRO solutions in industrial plant design.

The day saw the participation of almost 200 people, welcomed in the conference room of the Aquarium, where technical and strategic interventions followed one another, highlighting the value of integration between disciplines and tools, the push for interoperability, and the centrality of digital innovation.

During the lunch break, participants enjoyed the splendid terrace overlooking the sea, interacted with the ESAIN staff, and networked in a relaxed and stimulating atmosphere, enriched by the intervention of the Genoese mentalist and comedian Carlo Cicala, who added a touch of lightness and magic.

Highlights of the event

Marco Villa – ESAIN: Thirty years of history ready for tomorrow

CEO Marco Villa opened the event by celebrating ESAIN’s 30 years, retracing the company’s history from its founding in 1994 to its specialization in technical CAD with ESAPRO. He then outlined the future roadmap: greater interoperability, integration with ERP and cloud, BIM, and artificial intelligence. A clear commitment to shared and future-oriented growth.

Paolo Taverna – EniProgetti: Digital feasibility studies

Paolo Taverna showed how the use of ESAPRO 3D Piping allows anticipating critical issues in the design of Oil & Gas plants, optimizing time and costs. The focus on digital feasibility highlighted the importance of flexible and intuitive tools for tackling high-risk projects.

Stefano Ariotti – SDProget: Integration between SPAC Automation and process diagrams

The Technical Manager of SDProget illustrated the integration between SPAC Automazione and ESAPRO, allowing a seamless flow from process design to electrical design. The synergy between the two platforms enables more efficient multidisciplinary designs, with consistent documentation and error reduction.

Alessio Agnetti – Danieli Centro Combustion: Revamping and new plants in the metallurgical sector

Danieli recounted the use of ESAPRO in revamping projects of reheating furnaces and in the construction of heat treatment plants in Italy and abroad. The multidisciplinary approach made possible by ESAPRO allowed tackling complex challenges, such as working on existing plants and in confined spaces.

Davide Cameroni and Francesco De Matteis – One Team: BIM Piping and interoperability

The representatives of One Team presented a comparison between Inventor and plant CADs, explaining the integration of BIM flows thanks to tools like AnyCAD for Revit and CDE platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud. They illustrated how interoperability allows coordinated management of models, automatic clash detection, and resolution traceability.

Nicola Zapparoli – CPL Concordia: From model to construction site: BIM in plant construction

CPL shared its experience in using BIM for industrial plants, highlighting the adoption of ESAPRO for 3D modeling since 1997. The focus was on data transparency and the interconnection between the executive model and construction documentation for more efficient and integrated production.

Dario Bellinazzi – ESAIN: ESAPRO VX: The future is under construction

CTO Dario Bellinazzi presented a preview of ESAPRO VX, a new platform developed to enhance performance, interoperability, and ease of use. With native support for SQL Server 2025, cloud licenses, a renewed interface, and new features, VX represents a decisive step towards smarter and more international future design.

Wiliam Boarolo and Davide Guzzetti – EPC: From concept to 3D: Design in solvent recovery plants

EPC illustrated the life cycle of an HRTTM plant project, highlighting how ESAPRO allows fast and accurate modeling even on medium-small orders, thanks to flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and timely technical support.

ESAin Touch was a success made possible thanks to the active participation of our clients and partners, who accompany us every day on the path of innovation. We thank all the speakers, guests, and our staff for the shared enthusiasm and commitment.

Events like this remind us how precious it is to work together, share knowledge, and evolve with a common vision oriented towards growth and quality. ESAIN will continue to invest in cutting-edge solutions, always placing collaboration, excellence, and mutual trust at the center.
